Mary says, “Our Directors perform their duties on a voluntary basis, and as one of Australia’s oldest children’s charities, we are very fortunate to have a Board that comprises members who have a wealth of experience and expertise as well as a genuine commitment to, and alignment with, our organisational values and our mission to ‘give each child every opportunity—today and tomorrow’. I welcome Melly, Yash and Peter and I am excited to work alongside them as we see The Infants’ Home into the next chapter of our extraordinary journey”.
Sadly, we also bid farewell to long-serving Board Members Hugh Humphrey (member since 2015) and Dr Peter Hendy (member since 2017), who resigned their Board appointments on 29 November.
“I thank Hugh and Peter for their unfailing commitment to their roles as Board Directors at The Infants’ Home over the years,” says Mary. “Their sound governance, guidance and expertise have helped ensure that our organisation has continued to innovate and pivot to meet the needs of our community, most particularly in the recent years that have brought significant challenge and change to both The Infants’ Home and the wider world. I wish Hugh and Peter all the best for their future endeavours, and I hope they will remain ‘friends of the home’”.
Mary, our Board and staff look forward to working together as the The Infants’ Home enters an exciting period of renewal and growth in 2024, inspired and guided by our achievements, experiences and learnings over the past 150 years.
