Volunteer at The Infants' Home
Hundreds of volunteers work with us each year to contribute their time, resources and skills to help maintain our buildings, grounds and gardens, raise funds, assist with events, support our children’s programs, and help with special projects, making a real impact for the community we serve.
As a child-safe organisation our volunteers do not work directly with our children. However, their work plays an important role in maintaining and supporting our operations and the work we do every day to help children and families.
Each year the hours donated by our valued volunteers helps to save us thousands of dollars in general administration, consultancy support, cleaning and grounds maintenance, allowing us to focus more of our funds on providing essential services and programs for children and families.
Individual volunteering
We welcome individual volunteers from all different backgrounds, ages and skill sets. Volunteering at The Infants’ Home is fun, a great way to meet like-minded people, and is a rewarding way for you to help young children and families in need.
Corporate Volunteering
The Infants’ Home runs a year-round Corporate Volunteer program on our site in Ashfield.
Our Corporate Volunteer program offers participants a day away from workplace routine to get out and about in fresh air on our beautiful grounds. It’s a great way for work colleagues to strengthen their team dynamics, give back to the community and work together to make a difference for children and families.
Our scheduled day for volunteer groups is usually Wednesday, although this can vary.

COVID SAFETY
We are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our children, families, staff and volunteers. In line with current NSW Health requirements, masks are not currently required, however a mask may be worn at your own discretion. Volunteers are encouraged to practice physical distancing where possible, especially when indoors, and good hand hygiene is required. From time to time there may be different or additional COVID-safe requirements in place, depending on current advice from the NSW Departments of Health and Education, or should cases rise or new COVID strains appear.
