Farewell to The Infants' Home President and Long-Serving Board Director Mary Verschuer
Mary joined The Infants’ Home Board in 2008 and served until early 2015. During this period, Mary served as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and was a member of the Property Redevelopment Committee.
After a two-year absence, Mary returned to The Infants’ Home in 2017 to take up the role of President. In addition to being the Chair of our Board, Mary served at various times on the Finance and Audit Committee, the Property Committee and the Capacity, Research and Reach Committee.
During the seventeen years that Mary was affiliated with The Infants’ Home, our organisation has gone through substantial change. From the redevelopment of our site to expand our service offerings, the creation of the Early Intervention and Wellbeing Hub, the forthcoming expansion to Engadine and our 150th Anniversary celebrations, Mary has been a champion of our continued success and growth. Mary was also at the helm during the challenging period of our operating throughout the COVID pandemic and the prolonged post-pandemic recovery.
Incoming President Sarah Michael says, “Mary has been a dedicated advocate for The Infants’ Home staff and the work that we do throughout her long tenure. She leaves behind a legacy of good governance that will shepherd The Infants’ Home long into the future. Mary will be greatly missed, and we wish her well for her future endeavours”.
