Welcoming Sarah Michael, The Infants' Home's New President
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Michael as The Infants’ Home’s President following the resignation of former President Mary Verschuer at our 150th Annual General Meeting, held on 1 May 2025.
Sarah joined the Board in 2017 and served as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee from this time. She was appointed Vice President of The Infants’ Home in November 2024.
Sarah is a registered nurse with over 40 years’ experience in the health sector in hospital, government and private sector roles. She previously held a senior management position in Clinical Governance and Safety at St Vincent’s Health Australia, the largest Catholic not-for-profit healthcare provider in Australia.
Sarah has specific expertise in clinical governance, compliance and risk, policy development, organisational change, benchmarking and reporting. She previously participated in several state and national initiatives focused on patient safety, aged care, oversight of organisational COVID-19 response plans and, more recently, cyber security.
The Infants’ Home Board and staff warmly welcome Sarah to the role of President. We look forward to her governance and support as the organisation moves forward with our focus on expanding our reach and building our sustainability to meet the needs of children and families in the communities we serve.
