New Board Directors November 2024

The Infants’ Home is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors to our Board, Liz Hardy and Amanda Kirton, who will commence their appointments at our November Board Meeting.

Liz is a Senior Leader with over 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, operations, business, development, fundraising, brand management, marketing, and communications. Liz’s career spans the not for profit, corporate, creative industries, and higher education sectors, and she has a strong track record of supporting and collaborating with senior executives, boards, academics, researchers, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs to generate enduring and meaningful outcomes. She is also an inner west resident and mum of two.

Amanda is an experienced leader, skilled in strategic planning and delivery, governance and stakeholder engagement. Her extensive expertise in financial data analytics and risk management, honed in investment banking, has delivered best practice outcomes in challenging and complex environments. Currently serving on the Executive of a YPO Sydney chapter, the world’s premier leadership organisation, and as President of an independent school alumni association, Amanda directs an active portfolio of education events, networking and fundraising initiatives.

Our President Mary Verschuer says, “I warmly welcome Liz and Amanda to The Infants’ Home Board. As one of Australia’s oldest children’s charities, we are very fortunate to have a Board that comprises members with a wealth of experience, expertise and a genuine commitment to our organisation’s values and mission to ‘give each child every opportunity—today and tomorrow’. Our Directors perform their duties on a voluntary basis, and we are most grateful for their ongoing generosity and dedication”.

She adds, “I look forward to working with Liz and Amanda as we continue to celebrate The Infants’ Home’s 150th anniversary into 2025 and move forward with our focus on expanding our reach and building our sustainability to meet the needs of children and families in the community.”

Our Board and staff are focussed on working together to continue our legacy and to ensure that young children and their families have every opportunity to attain a positive future for themselves.
