150 Years of Creating Brighter Futures for Children and Their Families
In 2024, The Infants’ Home is proudly celebrating 150 years of serving children, families, and communities. Established in 1874, we began as a shelter and haven for babies, young children and mothers in need and have grown to become a leading provider of integrated early childhood education, care, and support services. Our commitment to giving each child every opportunity to thrive has remained unwavering through the decades.
To mark this milestone, our Each Family, Every Future campaign honours the journey of each family we’ve supported and the countless futures we’ve shaped. This year, we reflect on our impact, recognise our long-term supporters, and look forward to continuing our mission to create brighter futures for children and their families.
Join Us for ‘All Hands on Deck’ for Children Onboard the HMAS Sydney V
We are excited to offer you the chance to celebrate The Infants’ Home’s 150th anniversary on the prestigious HMAS Sydney V.

Our ‘Each Family, Every Future’ campaign helps fund three key initiatives that will ensure we continue to make a lasting difference for future generations.
Off-site Expansion Plans
For many years we have supported families and have helped them find a path to a better future for themselves.
We want to ensure that our legacy doesn’t stop here. We want to ensure that each family in need has access to our services. With enough funding, we plan to expand our services into other areas of need, and we hope to have our first off-site service open in Engadine next year. Outdoor Classroom Project
We know that 70% of residents in our local area live in apartments and we recognise the importance of nature pedagogy, and the myriad benefits it can have for children’s learning and development. Our outdoor classroom project is underway, and with enough funding to support this special project, plan to open a beautiful natural learning environment for children in 2025. This unique space will have a focus on learning in nature and the social and emotions benefits this has for children with complex needs.

We need to preserve our heritage buildings, our grounds and our facilities here in Ashfield. We know how important our services are for families, and we want to ensure that we can continue providing these services for future generations of children.
