Wangal Playgroup – Ashfield Public School

This playgroup is for children from birth to school age and their parents, grandparents or carers, and is held each Wednesday at Ashfield Public School.

It's time for a parachute game at Wangal Playgroup.

What happens

The playgroup offers children a variety of art and craft activities, building and construction activities and dramatic play.

It also provides opportunities to learn new social and language skills as children interact with each other.

Recent playgroups have included children from Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Japanese, Tibetan, Bangladeshi and Korean backgrounds.

Parents and carers can play with their children in a safe and friendly environment which offers a range of activities to suit all ages and stages of development.

The playgroup is a place for children – and parents – to make new friends.

At the end of each session, an educator from The Infants’ Home or a volunteer parent at the playgroup reads stories, sings songs and does dance and movement games.

This type of activity teaches children new language skills and how to follow simple directions by learning the words and actions of songs.

Please feel free to bring a healthy morning tea for your child.
