Finding new confidence: Nicole's story

A mother on the edge tells the story of how she and her young family found new strength
to cope with the pressures of modern life and to build a brighter future.

"I wanted to take the time to thank you so much for every single thing you have done for me and my family. Without you and your help I would not have 2 of the happiest and most well-adjusted children you could meet – cheeky, but definitely confident and happy.

"I dread to think where I would be now if The Infants' Home had not stepped in and gently guided us in the right direction.

Finding confidence again

"I remember the first day I saw Robinson House and one word hit me – heaven. It was like some magical place with the sun and the trees. I am forever grateful for the chance to get the help I never knew I needed.

"Seriously, you gave me my life back. I am even crying now as I write this, as you all have supported me and my family and children through whatever life has dealt.

"I got back into the workforce and I found my confidence again. I found me again and it was such a relief.

Daniel and Lauren

"You all know Daniel as I know him and probably all love him as much too. He is such a joy to me and you have all played a massive part in his development.

"You did not have Lauren for as long, but she is now so much easier to manage thanks to the parenting classes and help via Brighter Futures.

"You recommended this program and it led to her diagnosis and now she is really doing well at school.

"I understand her more and we have more special times together. You have helped me feel so much closer to Lauren. She is such a sweet girl with a big heart and a great need to please. She wants to help out and we love doing stuff together, especially cooking.

"Without your help I may not feel this way about my daughter; only the frustration of not coping with her. So thank you.

New horizons

"I am going to miss you all so much. Daniel was always happy at The Infants' Home and he will miss his little buddies. But the biggest thing I will miss is knowing I had such wonderful support. You were always there for me no matter what.

"Suzie and Sally have been fantastic re-enforcing everything I do and making sure I get a little me time, making my mornings easier with Lauren and Daniel.

"The Infants' Home has truly been a part of my family and it is sad to leave. But on the other hand, if not for all of you, I would not be able to leave.

"I am a 'can do' person now and it is all because of the help you provided."
