Term 4 2018 Parenting Courses at The Infants' Home

Infant Massage course

This infant massage course is hosted by The Infants' Home in association with Prosper Project Australia and the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). Infant massage promotes relaxation and bonding for both parent and infant. Parents will be invited to massage their own infant, or a doll can be provided for practice if your infant is sleeping or unhappy during course times. Massage techniques are based on those used by the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).

The course starts Saturday 20 October, and runs until 17 November 2018.

Mindfulness and Postnatal Wellbeing Group

This 6 week program is designed to support mothers to explore and learn mindfulness practices to manage stress and anxiety. It will benefit mothers who are in the postnatal period up to 24 months, who are experiencing postnatal stress or anxiety of a non-acute nature. The course will provide information and support to mothers in a small group setting.

The group is free, with child minding is available at a cost of $5.00 per family per session. It starts on Wednesday 24 October, and runs until 28 November 2018.

Pilates wellbeing workshop for women

The Pilates Program helps you to embrace the mind–body connection. The benefits of this program can include lower stress levels and increased strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.  

The six week course cost is $40 (non-refundable once the course has started), with child minding available at $5.00 per child per session.

The course starts on 23 October, and runs until 27 November 2018.

Keeping Kids in Mind

Keeping Kids in Mind is a 5 week course for separated parents who are experiencing ongoing conflict. The course is designed to:

Course cost is $10 (to cover cost of participant workbook), and $5 per week for child minding if required. 

The course runs from 1 November to 29 November, and you must register your interest to attend by 18 October 2018.

Circle of Security in Mandarin

This is a free 6 week parenting program for Mandarin-speaking parents of children aged 0 - 8 years, being run in Rhodes from 20 October to 1 December (excluding 27 October) on Saturday afternoons.
