My name is Maria Luisa Holmes, but everyone calls me Isa and I am so very happy to have joined The Infants' Home. I am particularly excited to join the team at Rigby House.
I am an early childhood teacher and am passionate about young children’s learning and care, and have enjoyed teaching and caring for children from babies to preschool ages. I believe that the first five years are the most significant in a child’s life, and lays the foundation for learning, wellbeing and success, and I regard it a privilege to support children and their families during this amazing time in their lives.
I am often asked which age group I prefer to work with, and I honestly find this question difficult to answer as I find children of all ages to be endlessly fascinating and fun.
I worked for many years in the Hunter Valley, and then three years ago, contrary to what most people do, my husband and I moved back to Sydney, to be close to our family. We have four grown children and a three-year-old grandson with whom we have so much fun.
I have always admired The Infants' Home and the wonderful work that is done here to support young children and their families, and it is a dream come true for me to have become part of this amazing place.
I look forward to getting to know everyone at The Infants' Home, and I am particularly excited to get to know all the beautiful children, families and colleagues of Rigby House.
I look forward to meeting you all,
