Reenactment of the Winton Stampede in Robinson House

- May 16, 2016

Children learned about the Winton Stampede this week.

What is the Winton Stampede you may ask? Well it is the only fossilised impression of a dinosaur stampede that is located in Australia.

Children were shown a clip to explain it better and books were also read so their understanding was reinforced.

Educators then asked the children 'What is a stampede?' so they were able to tell it in their own words. Children responded with "the dinosaurs felt scared" and "They were trying to get back to the mountains".

We then reenacted the Winton Stampede with a very long strip of paper, paint and bare feet. All the children and educators had a lot of fun 'being dinosaurs in a stampede'.
