Thanks to all families and staff that came together for our morning tea to raise awareness for children and families living with Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.
Groups of educators and children from our centres came to sit on the lawn to enjoy fresh fruit and readings from books that promote belonging, including: 'We Belong Together', 'I Can, Can You?', 'Princess Smartypants', and 'It's OK to be Different'. Reading and discussing the story and characters in these books with children can help children develop empathy and learn to be inclusive and accepting of each other's abilities at a young age.
We thank all staff that baked delicious goods to share, and even though we know mornings are a busy time for parents, it was so lovely to enjoy a quick bite and a chat with parents that were able to pop in to say hi.
