The Infants Home were thrilled to receive a visit and generous donation from Westfield Burwood following the successful GiveAbility Day.
Organisers of GiveAbility Day at Westfield Burwood visited The Infants' Home to present us with a generous donation following the success of the event. The Infants' Home was lucky enough to be chosen as Westfield Burwood's charity partner for GiveAbility Day on July 4: a day of community fundraising to provide assistance to children and families living with disabilities.
We were excited to welcome our guests, in particular Paulo, who attended The Infants Home 30 years ago. Paulo, David and Zoe were given a tour of the centre, with many things bringing back memories for Paulo. Children from Murray, Johnson and Robinson House were happy to chat with our new friends whilst relaxing around one of our massive trees in the Winter sunshine.
An impressive array of fundraising activities were organised by Westfield Burwood on GiveAbility Day, held in the shopping centre itself, including cake pops, ballloon twisters, raffles, face painting and more. Volunteers from The Infants' Home and every staffing area of Westfield Burwood pitched in to help raise $5119.55 on the day. Westfield have kindly matched those donations and today, they presented us with a cheque for $10,239.10. Funds raised will go towards our kitchen project to help improve our nutrition educaiton programs.
As our charity partnership continues, we look forward to working with Westfield Burwood to raise funds and awareness to help vulnerable children and families.
