The group of volunteers from Goldman Sachs.

14 Volunteers from Goldman Sachs came to the centre on July 1 with a huge task ahead of them! 20 tonnes of fresh new sand had been delievered to the centre the day before, and our hard-working volunteers spent the day completely emptying and refilling the sandpits from Murray House and Gorton House, and topping up the sand in the other houses.

Working hard to move all the sand!

The children in the houses had a great time helping the volunteers with this massive task, assisting with the “wheel-barrow traffic” by creating human traffic lights. People had to stop when they heard “red light!” and wait until all was safe and they heard “green light!”.

Goldman Sachs have helped The Infants Home for a number of years by refreshing our sandpits through the Community TeamWorks program. The programs supports volunteer projects around the world. Goldman Sachs supplied the fresh sand, equipment hire and the exceptional group of volunteers that assisted with the day.

The children have been enjoying the fresh sand in their play areas.

We would all like to give a big thank you to Goldman Sachs!
