Children explore and celebrate wellbeing for Art Show

- October 14, 2015

The Infants' Home Annual Art Show is on Saturday October 24th, from 10am-2.30pm - all welcome! Children have been exploring the theme of wellness and wellbeing to create a huge selection of art works for display.

Offering an opportunity for parents and carers to appreciate that developing a child’s creativity is as important as numeracy and literacy, this family-friendly day out will be held on the beautiful grounds of The Infants' Home.

The show will feature hundreds of artworks by the centre's children and the community are invited to bring a rug and picnic or purchase a BBQ lunch at our sausage sizzle whilst browsing the artwork on display. All welcome!

Above: Children in Robinson House's Red Room have been reflecting on how colour can show feelings and developing their fine motor skills by using different art materials. In this way, art activities can help children to coordinate their thoughts and actions.

Children have been focusing on collaborative and shared creativity for this year’s Art Show, have been encouraged to cooperatively design and plan art works, as the shared art form is a strong connection to The Infants' Home program and philosophy.
