Last week was National Child Protection Week, which aims to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of primary prevention to reduce child abuse and neglect in Australia.
Each year The Infants’ Home actively supports the National Child Protection Week campaign. We work with other agencies in our area to promote the wellbeing and safety of our children and young people.
This year we worked in partnership with Burwood Council, NSW Department of Family and Community Services, Child Abuse Prevention Service, Metro Assist, Resourcing Parents, KU Children’s Services, Burwood Community Welfare Services and Club Burwood to develop Child Protection Week Resource and Activity Packs for early childhood services and primary schools. The packs were developed to support teachers and educators to build protective factors with children and families, and were distributed to a number of schools and early education and care centres in the Inner West.
