A great day was had by all at the 2014 Children’s Carnival

- October 20, 2014

The sun was shining, the birds were singing and The Infants’ Home was celebrating!

Our Children’s Carnival was once again a huge success, thanks to the hard work, generosity and enthusiasm of the families, staff and supporters of The Infants’ Home. It was fantastic to see so many children and families flowing through our gates to enjoy a day of entertainment, shopping and good food, and from start to finish our main lawn was thronged with a very happy crowd.

The Children’s Carnival is an important event on The Infants’ Home’s calendar. In addition to helping us to raise funds that are vital to the provision of services for children and families, CEO Anita Kumar says that “Most importantly, it is a chance for us to open our doors to our community. This helps us to connect with the community and to raise their awareness of the work that we do”.

The day would not have been a success without the contribution of our many families, staff members and friends of The Infants’ Home who helped out on the day by cooking, working on the stalls and donating items.

From a giant slide to the free petting zoo, there was plenty to keep the children entertained on the day

We would also like to thank the following organisations and businesses for their support and donations for the event:

One of our resident plovers was a little unimpressed that their usually quiet weekend was disturbed by the busy crowd who took over their lawn!
