In Charge of My Money

- April 12, 2013

FREE financial literacy for women workshops coming up at The Infants' Home in June.

About the program

In Charge of My Money is a 4-week program which aims to help women manage their money and improve their financial literacy.

The free program is a joint project between The Infants’ Home, Burwood Council, Wesley Mission, and St George Bank.

The average number of women who attend In Charge of My Money is small enough for people to feel comfortable discussing their concerns and sharing their experiences. This is a valuable aspect of the group.

Who is it for

Primarily for women who have English as a second language, the course can help any individual who is finding it difficult to manage their money.

What is involved

In Charge of My Money has 3 modules, each lasting about 2 hours.

The first module is Know your income and expenses. This focuses on knowing where your money goes and knowing how to pay for things.

The second module is Managing your money. This focuses on knowing what you want, goal setting, savings, planning and budgeting.

The third module is Managing Your Debt. This focuses on getting in and out of debt, knowing the real cost of borrowing, and managing debt.
