Petting Zoo visit

- October 11, 2012

A picture perfect day to host the farm animals at The Infants’ Home.

Johnson House Babies

The children were all excited and greatly enjoyed the visit from the farm animals. They were keen to touch, give the animals a cuddle, and they made sure that they were well fed while at The Infants’ Home. We had Cindy the calf, Babe the piglet, ducks and ducklings, lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and more.

Children from all our program areas took turns to visit the farm which was set up on the shady lawn area next to Rigby House. The children practiced how to pat the animals, needing to take turns, being gentle and they did just that. There were a few tears when they had to say good bye to the animals.

It was lovely to have our Family Day Care Educators visit the farm with their children. A number of parents also popped in to share the experience with their children.

All in all it was a fantastic day. The animals were certainly exhausted but left the centre feeling much loved.

Here are just a few of the wonderful pictures taken on the day...
