The Infants’ Home is taking applications from parents who want to enrol their child in our new early education and care centre for 2013.
The available places are for babies (under 2 years) and toddlers (aged 2-3 years).
We have capacity for 48 toddlers and 44 babies in our new centre, which is due to open in April-May 2013.
Child to staff ratios and staff qualifications at The Infants’ Home exceed the current national requirements for early education and care.
We have at least one four-year, degree-qualified teacher in each room to guide the curriculum, with ratios of 1:3 for babies and 1:5 for toddlers during core hours.
The Infants’ Home is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that provides high quality early childhood education and care. We are located on beautiful, heritage-listed grounds in Henry Street, Ashfield.
We also provide integrated services, such as occupational therapy and speech pathology. This means all children and families can access these early intervention and specialist health services from one site.
Our new centre has been designed to be state-of-the-art in early education and care.
This includes plenty of natural light, building orientation to capture the sun, a roofline to maximise circulation for heating and cooling, and a beautiful natural outdoor environment.
The new centre is also a model of sustainability, with plenty of green space, waste and water recycling features, and a working vegetable garden to help supply the kitchen. Children will be able to eat what they grow.
